Refund policy

Last updated: September 13, 2026

This Refund & Digital Delivery Policy applies to custom design services supplied by Hanzi Ink, operated by HONGKONG LIGHTIFY TRADING CO., LIMITED.

Custom Services

Every Hanzi Ink order is created for an individual client's story, language requirements, style, and intended use. Before you pay, we will provide a written proposal or Shopify invoice stating the agreed scope, fixed price, number of included revision rounds, expected delivery timing, and final file formats.

Fixed Price and Scope

The quoted price is fixed for the work described in the proposal. We do not add hidden charges or require an unapproved price supplement for the agreed scope. Complex projects are discussed and priced before payment.

If you later request a materially different concept, phrase, composition, or set of deliverables outside the agreed scope, we may offer that work as a separate project. We will not begin or charge for it unless you expressly approve a new written proposal.

Cancellations and Refunds

By paying an invoice, you request that Hanzi Ink reserve creative capacity and begin your custom project. Once payment has been received and work has begun, the order is final and non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable law or where we fail to provide the agreed Services and cannot reasonably correct the issue.

Refunds are not provided for:

  • a change of mind after payment;
  • unused revision rounds;
  • a decision not to proceed with a tattoo;
  • a request to change the agreed meaning, phrase, concept, or direction after work has begun;
  • subjective dissatisfaction where the delivered work follows the agreed brief; or
  • the execution, alteration, placement, healing, or result of a tattoo applied by a third party.

If you believe the delivered work contains an error attributable to us or materially differs from the agreed brief, contact us promptly with details. We will review the concern in good faith and, where appropriate, correct the work within the agreed scope.

If Hanzi Ink cancels a project because we are unable to deliver the agreed Services, we will issue an appropriate refund, up to a full refund depending on the work already delivered and applicable law. Duplicate or unauthorized charges will also be reviewed promptly.

Nothing in this policy excludes consumer rights that cannot legally be waived. Where applicable law provides a cancellation or withdrawal right, you agree that custom work may begin immediately after payment. Any legally required refund will be returned to the original payment method. Processing times after approval depend on Shopify, your bank, and your payment provider.

Revisions

The number of included revision rounds is stated before payment. A revision round means one consolidated set of reasonable changes to an existing concept. A new phrase, concept, composition, or direction is not a revision to the original brief and may require a separate proposal.

Please send clear, consolidated feedback within 14 days of receiving a draft unless we agree otherwise. If we receive no response for 30 days, the project may be placed on hold and resumed subject to availability. A dormant project does not create an automatic refund right.

Digital Delivery

No physical product is shipped. Drafts and final files are delivered electronically by email, secure download link, or another method agreed with you.

The proposal will identify the expected delivery schedule and file formats. Timelines begin after payment and after we receive all information reasonably required to start. Delivery dates are good-faith estimates unless a specific deadline is expressly guaranteed in writing.

We will notify you if a material delay occurs. You are responsible for providing a working email address, checking spam or junk folders, downloading the delivered files, and keeping your own backup. If you cannot access a delivery, contact us and we will reasonably assist.

Final Approval

You are responsible for checking all wording, Chinese characters, spelling, orientation, dimensions, placement, and visual details before approving the final design or having it tattooed. Your tattoo artist remains responsible for technical application, safety, hygiene, placement, and the finished tattoo.
